Horry County Schools Teams for CNA Program in Loris
Horry County Schools said it is working to narrow what it called a “Skills Gap” in high-demand jobs, including healthcare careers.
The district announced a partnership with Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) and McLeod Health Loris to bring a Certified Nursing Assistant, or CNA, program to the Loris community. Horry County Schools said the program is intended to expand access to healthcare career pathways for students in rural northern Horry County.
According to the announcement, hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics often rely on Certified Nursing Assistants, and the partnership is described as addressing an urgent need for healthcare professionals in the communities served by the program.
