**Emma Award Winner Rhonda McKnight to Visit Chapin Memorial Library**

Author Rhonda McKnight, known for her award-winning novel *Bitter and Sweet*, will be hosting a meet-and-greet event at Chapin Memorial Library in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The event will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 1:30 PM. Attendees can enjoy refreshments and are encouraged to register in advance at [calendar.chapinlibrary.org](http://calendar.chapinlibrary.org).

McKnight's novel, *Bitter and Sweet*, tells the story of two sisters, Mariah and Sabrina, who reunite in Georgetown, South Carolina, at the request of their grandmother. Initially believing they are needed due to their grandfather's health, the sisters instead face the challenge of saving their family restaurant. Through letters from their great-great-grandmother, Tabitha, Mariah and Sabrina uncover a moving narrative of perseverance and determination during the era of Jim Crow in Charleston.

The event will be held at Chapin Memorial Library, located at 400 14th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. For questions, the library can be reached at 843-918-1275 or via their website at [chapinlibrary.org](http://chapinlibrary.org).

This is a unique opportunity to meet an award-winning author and discover the heartfelt story behind *Bitter and Sweet*. Don't forget to register in advance for this special occasion!
