Daytona Beach fire chief plans retirement
The City of Daytona Beach Government said Deputy City Manager/Fire Chief Dru Driscoll has announced plans to retire.
In the announcement posted June 19, the city said Driscoll’s final day of service will be July 24.
The city credited Driscoll with 27 years of service, including 13 years as fire chief. It said he helped guide the Daytona Beach Fire Department through growth and transformation while focusing on community safety and the well-being of firefighters.
In his retirement letter, the city said Driscoll wrote: “For 27 years, it has been my greatest privilege and honor to serve the Daytona Beach Fire Department and the City of Daytona Beach.”
The city said it thanked Driscoll for his leadership and contributions, and called on the public to congratulate him and wish him well in retirement.
